Bonjour Jolie – June 2014

Bonjour Jolie is a monthly subscription box that provides you with necessities, pampering items, snacks and goodies, and a gift to help you through that time of the month.

Cost – $16/mo + S&H ($21 total)

Your first box comes within 16 business days of ordering, and you’ll get a new box every month before your cycle–just enter the date you NEED it by, and Bonjour Jolie takes care of the rest! If you need changes, just email them–as of posting, their customer service seems awesome!

20140616_173002I  scoured the internet before finally picking my list of subscription boxes, and this one definitely impresses. This is my second box, and I’m glad I picked this one! It came with a selection of my choice of tampons, pads, and/or panty liners (you customize this from a nice variety), and then the goodies!! Michael watched me open this month as I explained that he’d no longer have to randomly pick up girl things for me. He said he didn’t mind doing that, and I mentioned that he didn’t bring them home with a bunch of goodies, though. This box has him beat when it comes to that!

The edibles this month are amazing compared to last month–A Cougar Mountain Gourmet Cookie (chocolate chip), Caramels for Karson salted caramel chews, Leccare Lollipops (peach cobbler flavor!), Torie and Howard Organic Hard Candies, and of course, TEA! A variety of Bigelow Tea Company teas. Michael already ate a caramel, but the joke was on him since he wasn’t expecting it to be salted!

The pampering items included a nice variety of crafted items, as well as some basics:
Starfire Creations Honeysuckle Soap which has that handmade smell-Can’t wait to try it!
Bonny Bubbles Body Powder – As hot as it’s been, I might take them up on sprinkling it on the sheets (It gets so cool at night, my house is covered in shade, and I’m at work all day, I just can’t justify turning on the air!)
Scaredy Cat Cosmetics EyeShadow and Brush – I’m not sure what color I got, but if it’s the brassy color, not sure I can pull that off! But it’s a cute and fun little bottle, and I’m willing to give it a shot.
Vaseline Hand Lotion – This one is a staple, and little bottles of lotion are always welcome!
Summer’s Eve Feminine Wipes – Some sort of refreshing wipe is always included, no complaints.
Advil – This is optional, but I’d never turn down packs of pain killers.

The gift this month is this beautiful, sheer Handmade Silk and Georgette Sarong. The card indicates it’s imported from India. I love the fish on it, and goes perfect with my lake upbringing. I don’t know if I’ll necessarily wear it, but at the very least, it’s something that either my mother or sister-in-law would probably love if I end up gifting it.

20140616_173601Left the flash on, but here’s the card detailing all of the goodies. I absolutely love this box, and June definitely exceeding my expectations. What did you think of this month’s Bonjour Jolie?

Bonjour Jolie – May 2014

Bonjour Jolie is a monthly subscription box that provides you with necessities, pampering items, snacks and goodies, and a gift to help you through that time of the month.

Cost – $16/mo + S&H ($21 total)

Your first box comes within 16 business days of ordering (I seriously got it in 5) and you’ll get a new box every month before your cycle–just enter the date you NEED it by, and Bonjour Jolie takes care of the rest! If you need changes, just email them–as of posting, their customer service seems awesome!

BJ May

This is my first box from Bonjour Jolie, so I’d already seen the spoilers before I had signed up. I will say that in person, this box is very well put together. Everything from the wrapping, the the packaging of each type of item up in these cute mesh butterfly draw string bags. I’m going to save those for gift bags or something in the future.

As I mentioned before, you get the necessities. Your choice mix of 25 items from a pretty decent selection of pads, tampons, and panty liners. Brands you’ve actually heard of, too, like Kotex, OB, Tampax, and Natracare.

BJ - May 1

This month’s pampering was a selection of Philosophy soap, shower gel, lotion, and a facial bar. Also included (and optional), a couple packs of Advil and some feminine wipes.

The goodies! A nice selection of tea, a cookie, chocolate, and a tootsie pop ( I haven’t had one of these in forever!). Since this was my first box, it’s not “synced up” yet, so I had to put it away or it wasn’t going to make it for when it was intended for!

BJ May 3 The gift is probably something I’d never have picked up for myself, but really like. I meant to wear it the other day with a t-shirt I thought it was have gone well with, but I was in a hurry out the door and completely missed the opportunity. The time is coming, though!

For the price, I think this is a well put together box and really fun. I’d probably spend close to $10 a month on products, so all of this other stuff is a nice bonus that I think it totally worth it!

So what do you think of May’s Bonjour Jolie box?

What I got Wednesday – June 4, 2014

This past week was pretty good to me if I must say so myself! Here’s a few things I got:

  • May Birchbox (review coming soon!): I was so pleased with how quick they sent my first box to me, and the fact there was an awesome sale on the year sub, I went ahead and upgraded my account. I used the Coupon Code BBSUBYEAR to get a 1 year sub for $99 (regular is $110), so that’s two free boxes per year. Even better? They have a deal going on where you get a free mystery sample box with purchases $35 and up. ALSO, and I missed this one, I believe you can score a Shasi Sam Bracelet by using the Coupon Code SHASHIGIFT with this as well. Either way, snag that year sub deal, it ends June 9!
  • May Bonjour Jolie box (yep, I owe another review): All I can say right now is that I’m super pleased with this box and glad I picked it up.20140604_184759
  • VIP Products toy tester toy of the month: Normally the mail comes while I’m at work, and Riley gets to open his mail when I get home. The jerk decided instead that he’d pull the package down from the counter and tear right into it. He loves getting mail, and he loves opening mail. But I’m still impressed, since he left my boxes alone the day before, and they were MUCH more at his level on the edge of the table rather than shoved all the way to the back of the counter. Anyway, he couple of new oversized tennis balls that squeak, and he couldn’t be happier. He had me, the neighbor, and the neighbor’s son throwing it for him. I actually had to hide it to get him to come inside.
  • Crowdtap finished their drawings for the  month of may, and I ended up with 10 Amazon gift cards ($5 each) and 1 Walmart gift card ($25). Traded Walmart for Amazon, and my Kindle/tablet savings continues! Good haul this month, and definitely worth the extra effort. I also got an invite to a sample and share for a Schick Hydro 5 Groomer for Michael.
  • I WON! I’ve discovered the world of blogs, and with that, sweepstakes. At least ones that I’d be remotely interested in winning. But I got an email that I won three organic chapsticks. Will post when/if I get them!

Not bad for one week! Did you get anything good??
